Hidden Dinner

Hi World!  I just wanted to write a quick post to share with everyone why I’ve been a such a busy bee lately.  I know, how much more busier can I get right?  I guess with creative stuff I can never get enough 🙂  Anyhoo, I’ve been involved with this awesome secret supper club since last fall called Hidden Dinner.  Actually we just had our 3rd event today!  We decided to try something different this time and did a “brunch” theme instead of our usual “dinner” theme.  Since today’s event is fresh on my mind I wanted to blog about it real quick.  All I can tell you is I am in charge of the event design 🙂  Of course this is a secret supper club so I have to keep it a lil bit mysterious so for now you can check out our website at http://www.hiddendinner.com.   Passcode: berry.  Be sure to check out the “past events” section 🙂

Until next time…

Hello again!  As promised I will be making a back to back post tonight.  🙂

Now on to Hazel and Duy’s wedding 🙂

I met Duy over 3 years ago at my friend Hollie’s birthday party and I already knew he was a super cool guy cus for being such a manly man he sure know how to make a mean tiramisu!  When Hollie got married later that year Duy was so awesome and offered to be my lil helper that day 🙂  Thanks again Duy!

I was so excited when Duy called me and told me he wanted to hire me for his wedding a year and a half ago!  Since Duy and Hazel both live in San Francisco I didn’t get to meet Hazel until a couple months after they got engaged.  Hazel is so so sweet and we totally hit it off right off the bat 🙂   They were so great throughout the whole planning process.  Duy was super organized and crazy good at all the graphic stuff and even designed their invites and all the stationery for their wedding!  Amazing again for a manly man!  Duy has so much energy and can do a million things at a time.  He made the whole process super fun and easy for me 🙂  Thanks again Duy and Hazel for letting me be a part of your big day not only as your coordinator but as your friend.  Btw, the food was amazing!

I am so happy Hazel and Duy’s wedding vision came to life.  Thank you to my friend Cindy of Floral Elements for doing such an amazing job!  I am so excited and can’t wait to see the rest of the photos from my buddy Huey of Huey Bui Photography.  For now here’s a couple photos taken by my good friend Tommy.  He’s my unofficial resident photographer for Vanda Events cus when I’m too crazy busy I don’t have time to take photos of my own 🙂

Enjoy!

Hello world!  So sorry I’ve been so behind on my blogging.  To make up for it I’m gonna do a back to back post!  I know that’s crazy right?!  First up I’ll be sharing with you guys some photos from Jackie and Allen’s wedding back in March 🙂

I was first introduced to Jackie by my old high school friend Kathryn aka Jackie’s bridesmaid 🙂   And little did I know Allen is also friends with my childhood friend Nguyet’s husband Danny!  I know!  What a small world right?!  So I met Jackie and Allen for the first time at a dinner party at Nguyet and Danny’s house one night and everything else just fell into place. 🙂   Since Nguyet and I have worked together before on a couple of my previous gigs naturally we both had to be involved in Jackie and Allen’s wedding.  It was super fun for Nguyet and I to help Jackie with her wedding flowers and coordination too of course!

I have to say one of my favorite parts of their wedding was their first dance.  Their first dance song was “Come What May” from my all time favorite movie “Moulin Rouge”!  Totally gave me goose bumps!  Those are the moments when I say to myself…This is why I love my job!  The ending of their first dance was just epic!  Allen was like super human strong and twirl Jackie around for at least 10 times before they stopped!  When I say epic I mean it!  It was awesome!

Jackie and Allen, thanks so much for believing in me!  I had a great time and I hope you guys did too 🙂

So here’s some pics I took of that epic night!  To see more awesome pics of Jackie and Allen’s big day please check out http://www.kimlephotography.com.

We’re published!  I’ve been waiting to blog about this for quite some time now but I had to wait for the news first.  Well I’m so excited to share with everyone the Little Red Riding Hood inspired photo shoot I styled a couple weeks ago is now featured on one of my favorite wedding websites The Wedding Chicks!   I got the news from the photographer, Carissa of Carissa Woo Photography today, she’s the mastermind behind this shoot.  🙂  About a month ago Carissa contacted my friend Cindy of Floral Elements and I to see if we would be interested in collaborating on a little photo shoot.  I was super excited and a little nervous too since it was my first time styling a shoot.   Cindy and I have worked together many times before so I was really excited to do this shoot with her.  We both are super anal and love what we do so of course no details can be overlooked 🙂  Cindy did an amazing job with all the flowers and I was very pleased with how everything turned out!  I definitely look forward to styling more shoots!  🙂

Here is the link to the post from Wedding Chicks.

And as always I have to include some photos I took as well.  🙂

A couple weeks ago I had the honor of coordinating Darcy and Brandon’s wedding at this amazing venue in San Juan Capistrano…El Adobe de Capistrano.  Gosh, I haven’t been back in that area since I was a kid on a field trip or something.  I definitely have to come back to explore that area.  So many cool places to eat and of course places for photos!

Their photographer Brittany Keene was so awesome and sent me some pics right away!  Her mom Patty was the florist and did an amazing job with all the flowers too.  I really love Darcy and Brandon’s style because all the flowers and decor were super simple and organic. Darcy and Brandon often take trips to Mexico and wanted to make the guests feel like they are on vacation in Mexico.  They provided a candy station, ice cream station, and of course last but not least a churro station!  My team and I had a great time setting them up too.  I didn’t get a chance to take photos of them so I can’t wait to get them from the photographer.  For now you can enjoy some of the photos I did manage to take.  🙂

Enjoy!

I hope everyone is enjoying 2011 like I am.  So far so good for me!  I’m super duper busy and I definitely have a lot more up my sleeves this year 🙂  I’ve been super busy juggling events and designing a med spa the past couple months.  I can’t wait for it to be done so I can share it with you all.  For now I’ll be sharing some wedding pics from my friend Meelan’s wedding from last November.  I did all the personal flowers for her since her venue takes care of all the reception flowers.  🙂

I’m keeping this short again.  Be back soon!

Enjoy!

Last weekend Eva and Stephen celebrated their wedding at the Los Angeles Athletic Club located in the historic downtown LA.  This wedding was an extra special wedding for me since this was my first full planning wedding.  Most of my weddings are either partial planning, or month of coordinating.  Every details from the beginning to end was a team effort from the bride and groom and I.  Eva and Stephen really entrusted in my decisions I made for them, and it made everything so much easier.  🙂  Eva and Stephen is truly one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met.  When I first met them I can feel the love they have for each other.  The way the speak to each other when they are discussing ideas are so sweet.  I would like to thank Kelly Bland, the catering manager for LAAC for referring Eva and Stephen to me.  I had an awesome time working with you and your wonderful staff.  The food was amazing!  I am still dreaming about it 🙂

Well after almost a year of planning, I am so happy to say their wedding was absolutely gorgeous!  For those of you who know me well know that I am very picky when it comes to flowers and decor and once again my friend Cindy of Floral Elements did an amazing job!  From the bridal bouquet to the centerpieces to the wishing tree, everything was just exquisite!  Thanks again for always doing above and beyond my expectations, Cindy!

It would be a crime if I do not mention one of the highlights of the night which was the amazing LA Allstars!  This was my first time working with a full band and boy was it a spectacular night!  They kept the guests on the dance floor all night long!  I was just utterly amazed by how talented they were!  Words can’t even describe how AMAZING they were that night!   A special thank to Mike Todd for organizing everything!  You are truly a rockstar!

I would also like to give myself a little shout out for working on all the stationery such as the escort cards, wishing tree cards, table names, etc.  By the way, the table names were named after cities and sites where the bride and groom will be visiting on their honeymoon. 🙂

And last and certainly not least I would like to thank Eva and Stephen for believing in me and trusting me in making all the creative decisions for them.  You two are truly one of the sweetest couples I know and I am so glad we met.  🙂

Have a fabulous time on your honeymoon!  I wish you two all the best!

Enjoy the pics!

A couple weeks ago my friend Joe and his long time girlfriend Cathy tied the knot at the St. Boniface Church in Anaheim and their reception was held at the Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry.  It was such an honor to be there to share their special day with them.  It was a really fun wedding with delish food of course!  Joe really wanted me to be there as a guest and didn’t want me to work so instead of coordinating his wedding I offered to help him do the centerpieces for the reception.  The rest of the flowers were done by KC Florals.

Congratulations Joe and Cathy!  I wish you guys a happy, healthy, and prosperous life together!

Enjoy the pics!

Catherine and Jee is one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever worked with.  I’m not just saying that because they are my clients 🙂  I met Catherine and Jee a month and a half ago when Jee emailed me and told me Catherine was getting a little nervous since their wedding is a month away and they really need someone to be there the day of the wedding to oversee everything so they can enjoy their day.  They are really super easy going and so so sweet to each other.  I can just feel the love they have for each other!

One of the most memorable moments of the day was during the exchanging of their vows.  I love it when a couple get a chance to say their own vows.  Catherine’s vows was so touching because she was trying to hold back tears when she described their relationship.  Yes, I was a little teary eyed as well 🙂  The moment that made all of us laugh was when Jee said something like “having babies is not a maybe” lol.  It’s so cute he was trying to find a word to rhyme with babies. 🙂

Well I am going to keep this short and sweet as usual.  I would like to also thank Trista of Trista Lerit Photography and Tom and Thao of Regent West Catering for an awesome job!  For more beautiful pictures please check out Trista’s blog.  She was so sweet and gave me mad props on coordinating the day.  🙂

Enjoy!
